Red-dye to go!
OK, I now have streaks. Bright red strawberry streaks...(or at least they were before Holi!)
I don't know if I should be proud or ashamed, but let's just say that if I were 'my stupendous & fabulous cousin Nish', it might have been said that 'my stupendous & fabulous cousin Nish thought that it was impossible for me to ever get streaked', so I'm actually sort of changing.
All this means, really, is that I spend a fair amount of time trying to decide what the best angle is for my red streaks (nish would have guessed red though) to fall gracefully off my head and what the proper distance should be between the onlooker and the streak in question to facilitate effective viewing. Though it is at all times a work in progress, the current state of assessment and reassessment has resulted in a sort of a permanent tilting of my neck almost akin to my tv viewing angle (..this everyone who's ever been in the same movie hall or classroom or watched tv with me will know!)
Add to this my new rash of actually wearing colours and you get the new and only slightly improved mee!
At this point, I think that it's necessary to point out that this is not actually the first time I've done this sort of thing...the other times being a slight bit (yea right!) more extreme (yooohooo..remember the crew cuts??)
Mostly, I suppose that I did this because I could, as it ultimately really doesn't make much of a difference what I look like frankly (being the fabulous me that me ish!) -everyone is going to stare, one way or another. The philosophy behind the streaked look had more to do with trying to do something that might have beeen used as character defination..(oh that's the girl with the streaks.. can't miss her!) but that plan pretty much blew up in my face..duh!
So after all that I guess I'm just going to wait for the grey to start showing again and its back to the old "BARBAR". Hey I tried it and I'm knocking!....and I'm sticking with Garnier. Natural Brown.
Damn - saw streaks and thought you've finally gone and done a streak, "Protima Bedi" style. But apparently not. Forget surreal, give me real any day!
