Papa's got a Brand New Bag!
Yowza! It bes time for new postings and beginnings also. It has recently been brought to my notice that in the current epidemic of the Veritable GoodTimes I’ve been completely neglecting my blog. There have been vague rumours of laziness; boredom and some have even gone as far as to say that I’ve got nothing more to report!! Imagine that! Me!!..with nothing to say! Like THAT’S ever going to happen. So I’m back again to put those vile rumours to rest.
Let me start with my latest acquisition. A spankin’ new phone. The Nokia 6680. It’s a 3rd generation, 1.3 mega pixel image shootin’, dual camera’ed (the camera in front is for video calls and though my provider doesn’t support this feature yet I’m sure at some point I’ll be able to really use it!) dream come true! Here's a picture!
The most amazing thing about it though is the no zig-fucking-zag clean design. The buttons are all intelligently placed with the soft buttons big and easy to find and a joypad that's not hard to work, the memory card is accessible without taking out the battery (I’ve got two so its really convenient!), it has stereo playback, and the main 1.3 megapixel camera in the back takes great quality pictures (with a smooth digital zoom up to 6x) and practically unlimited length video, has a flash and a cover to boot. It also has a sequence mode…shoots upto six images in rapid succession (with flash as well) and a night mode.
The OS has been steadily improved (I used the 6600 this time in Mumbai and oh my gawd.. this one’s a vast improvement!) and this phone has nice new touches like the "Active Standby" mode and an "offline" mode so you could use the phone on airplanes. In general it's Nokia's best Series 60 phone yet. Also being new to the amazing world of high-end phones this one’s the first one I’ve synched with my pc. The Bluetooth (another first!) is fast and easily manageable and absolutely delightful to have.
Plus, as an added perk, I get to walk upto cute stangers at bars and say.."I'll show you mine if you show me yours!"..and actually have something to show them!! Oh Joy!! I’m so glad Tarun pointed out this phone to me all those weeks ago and even gladder for the rocking deal he got me! Muuuuaaaaaahh my baby! Thank you ,thank you THANK YOU!!!!
Ok! Now that that’s done I can get back to regularly scheduled programming. Also in the recent-acquisitions section is my new red handbag and my S&M chain and black leather steel heeled stilettos. Hehehehehhehahahahahah.. little me is now equipped to take on the most outrageously rouged Delhi-ite! And you thought it would never happen!

ah youth!! the moment when a young woman's fancy turns to love.. albeit for a nokia fone.. my darlin buds o may arent excatly bloomin aye?!! well well, so someone has a swanky new fone to show off!! unfortunately mine jus has one camera, about which, i as it is have serious doubts.

Guess what.. i jus bought meself a space suit!! yesss, unbeleivable aye?!! there wuz this russian exhibition wherein they had these used soyuz mission spacesuits for sale!! For 80,000 bucks, you would consider that a steal non?? its pretty hi tech n in purrfectly wokkable condition!!
See, this is what the tech manual has to say:
Space Suits are highly-functional outfits designed to cope
with vacuums and weightless environments.In a weightless environment there is no air, therefore making space a vacuum with no air pressure. Space suits protect the human body, which could not function otherwise in this type of environment. But in the vacuum of space, there are times when astronauts must leave their ship. Space suits are the life-saving outfits designed to protect astronauts from the vacuum, weightlessness and radiation they are hit with in space when they leave their ship.
it has really cool gadgets like:
1) Caution & warning computer.
2) Fan/seperator/pump/motor assembly.
3) Primary Oxygen n water tanks.
4)Contaminant control cartridge.
5)Portable life support system.
6)Lower torso assembly etc etc :)
7) A tv camera n lights ( ah dunno how many megapixel it is tho :( )
8) A cool helmet witha gold plated visor.. wwwoooooo!!

12) Last but not the least, relly cool arm patches that is bound to impess the chicks!!
The suits maintain air pressure in a gaseous environment; supply oxygen and eliminate carbon dioxide; control temperature; allow for mobility; and, shield the wearer from radioactive waves.
As astronauts must have a maintained air pressure in a gaseous environment, the suit ensures a steady supply of pure oxygen is supplied to its wearer as well as making sure the air pressure remains at a stable rate of 0.3 atmospheres. The suit also expels any carbon dioxide inside it. The astronaut also fills the suit's cooling system with water to allow for the suit to maintain a comfortable temperature for its wearer.
While maintaining suitable conditions, the space suit also allows the astronaut to preserve energy as well as permits them sufficient mobility to perform the tasks they have been sent into space to carry out.
Of cos the downside is that the damn thing weighs 23Kgs, so its not too much fun to wear at earth gravity, 1g... plus, for all the systems to wokk, it requires silver cadmium batteries which cost like a bomb.. n for the airconditioning to work, which is a must in bombay as in outerspace, i need liquid oxygen and nitrogen at 900 psi... :( N i dunno whe jet airways is gonna start a 9W-service to da moon, we're avin trouble goin to newark at da moment!! Now you must be thinkin im crazy right? But then, if you can buy a fone with 2 cameras for video conferencin tho ur provider dont provide no support... whats stoppin me?!! :)
PS: Tho i have serious doubts if i can walk upto cute strangers in a bar in my spacesuit n ask them to show me theirs... :(
